Annapurna Circuit trek is one of the most popular moderate treks among the trekkers in Nepal. The route comprises of highlands & lowlands, mountains, basins, watersheds, waterfalls, conservation area, historical place, religious place and natural scenery. Mountains like Annapurna, Machhapuchhre (fishtail), Manaslu, Lamjung Himal, Lakes like Tilicho (lies in the high altitude) rivers like Marsyangdi and Kali Gandaki are the major attraction of this trek. Furthermore,  one will have the experience of crossing the highest pass of this region, Thorang-La pass (5419 m and discover the religious site of Buddhist and Hindus at Muktinath.

Day 1: Kathmandu Arrival and transfer to your Hotel
Our office representative will pick up you from Kathmandu Airport & Transfer to your hotel. O/N stays the night in Kathmandu. Evening, meet your guide and porter at Hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel

Day 2: Kathmandu to Bulbule (832m) approx 7 Hours
After early breakfast drive from Kathmandu to Bulbule by local coach. A long chain of green hill in both sides and beautiful river on right side follow you during the 6-7 hours drive to Bulbule. You will pass through Marsyangdi river valley to Besisahar and finally reach to Khudi. Overnight stay at Lodge

Day 3: Bulbule to Gyarmu phant (1314meter) approx 5 Hours
It takes around 5/6 hours normal walk to reach Bahundanda. On the way you cross the bridge and continue your trek to the north above the Marsyangdi River. The changes in the valley’s ecosystem and its physical characteristics become evident now. Overnight stay at Lodge

Day 4: Gyarmu phant- Dharapani (1400m) approx 6 Hours
Today you have exciting walk for 6 hours to reach  Dharapani. You descend to the valley floor and then, crossing the river. Overnight stay at Lodge

Day 5: Dharapani – Chame (2713m) approx 6 Hours
After breakfast continue trek up the River valley and  pass the Gurung Village Thonje to Bagarchhap. Throughout the day there are nice views of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II and Anna purna IV (7525m). Overnight stay at Lodge

Day 6: Chame – Pisang (3185m) approx 5 Hours
Today, you will continue with a long pleasant and mostly level walk through the forest to Brathang, which lies at 2950 meter. After the trail rounds a bend here you see the first view of the dramatic Paungda Danda rock face, a tremendous curved slab of rock rising more than 1500 meter from the river. Overnight stay at Lodge

Day 7: Pisang – Manang (3540m) approx 5 hours
Today, you have to trek up to the Tibetan-style village of Bryaga at 3500 meter following the valley floor. At Braga you see houses stacked one atop the other, each with an open veranda formed by a neighbor’s rooftop. The gompa perched on a high crag overlooking the village, is the largest in the district and has an outstanding display of statues. Overnight stay at Lodge.

Day 8: Acclimatization at Manang 
Today is rest day at Manang. It is important for you to acclimatize at this point furthering your trip because the altitude is going to rise up to 4700m in coming treks. You may hike to Chonkor View Point and to the monastery. The day can be utilized preparing by you for further trekking.   

Day 9: Manang – Yak Kharka (4000m) approx 3 hours
Today the trail ascends gently all the way to Yak Kharka passing through Gunsang (3960m.) village. En route, we will see panoramic views all the day.

Day 10: Yak Kharka – Thrung Phedi/high camp (4500m/4700m) approx 3 hours
This day you reach to the highest point of the trek. From Yak kharka you will continue to climb along the east bank of the Jarang Khola to Thorung Phedi, a rock-strewn meadow surrounded by vertical cliffs at 4420 meter. Blue sheep and even snow leopards can be seen sometimes in this valley. High in the skies above, you can see lammergeyers and Himalayan griffons circling around.

Day 11 Thorang Phedi –Muktinath via Thorang La Pass (5416m) approx 8 hours
Today , the  long trek starts  before sunrise , maybe  at 0400 hrs to reach the pass by 0900/1000 hrs at the latest,  otherwise weather conditions will greatly affect the journey. You cross over at an altitude of 5416m, so can be affected by strong winds if you do   late.

Day 12 Trek from Muktinath to Kagbeni (2895 m.)- 4 Hours

After visit Muktinath Temple trek down the Kali Gandaki Gorge, initially through arid country in the same geographical and climatic zone as Tibet. After passing through Jharkot and Khingar villages with typical Tibetan architecture, we follow path steeply down to Kagbeni. Kagbeni is the border for Upper Mustang.

Day 13 Kagbeni – Marpha via Jomsom (2700m) approx 6 Hours
 After breakfast trek down to Kagbeni, Then continue trek to Jomson You descend continues through the Kali Gandaki Valley to Marpha. Marpha is a home to many apple orchids as well as all the various food products made from the fruit.

Day 14 Marpha – Ghasa (2073m) Approx 6 Hours
You further trek down the Kali Gandaki valley alongside the Kali Gandaki river to Ghasa. You pass the villages of Tukuche at 2580m and Larjung at 2560 meter. Then you cross the Kali Gandaki River.  

Day 15 Ghasa – Tatopani (1190m) approx 5 Hours
Today the trek leads you through the most steep and narrow  part of the Kali Gandaki valley. Before you reach the village of Dana (1450m) you pass the Rupse Chhahara (‘beautiful waterfall’). Descending further down passthere will be several landslides then  you reach Tatopani, meaning hot water, which is situated on the riverbanks where you can  stop and take a natural  hot water bath. It is 6 hours walk from Ghasa to Tatopani.

Day 16 Tatopani -Ghorepani (2856m) approx 7 Hours
Leaving the hot springs behind you have a day of climbing Ghorepani. You leave the Kali Gandaki valley and follow the Ghar Khola river and cross this river through old swing bridge. You continue ascending to Ghara (1780m) and Shika (1935m) where there is British army training centre. The last part of the trail today is climbing through rhododendron and magnolia forests to Ghorepani 

Day 17 Ghorepani (2834m) – Poon Hill (3210m) – Hille (2625m) approx 5 Hours
Early in the morning  about an hour’s hiking to Poon Hill (3210m) leads you to a brilliant viewpoint for beautiful sunrise over the high Himalayas. From here the trail up to Tikhedhunga is steeply descending passing through terraces and some robust villages.

Day 18 Hille to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara – approx 6 Hours
Today is the last day hike day. The trails gradually descend following Bhurung Khola (Bhurung Stream) all the way to Birethanti before we cross the Modi Khola over the suspension bridge a short walk & we reach Nayapul, where our vehicle will be waiting to drive us back to Pokhara

Day 19: Pokhara to Kathmandu
Drive to Kathmandu by Tourist Coach. You can start optional activities such as Chitwan Jungle Safari, Seti River Rafting, pokhara Tour, Lumbini, Paragliding, Flight and Ultra Flight. Farwell Dinner, Overnight stay at Hotel

Day 20: Departure 

You will be free until your flight time; we will drop you at Kathmandu Airport 3 hour before you flight.

All foreign nationals, except Indians, need visas to enter Nepal. Multiple entry visas for 15 days (US$ 25 or equivalent convertible currency), 30 days (US$ 40) or 90 days (US$ 100) can be obtained from any Nepalese embassy or consulate. You can also get a visa on arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu or at the Immigration Office at the entry points of Nepal.

Tourist visas can be extended for a period of 120 days at the Immigration Department in Kathmandu. However, nationals of the following countries will not get a visa on arrival at the immigration entry points of Nepal: Afghanistan, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iraq, Liberia, Nigeria, Palestine, Somalia, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. They need to obtain visas from Nepalese embassies or diplomatic missions in their respective countries prior to their arrival in Nepal.

Gratis (Free) Visa for 30 days is available only for nationals of South Asian countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka for the first visit in one visa year (January to December). However, a visa fee is required for its extension beyond the 30 days.

Generally, Nepal is for all seasons, however, if you are going to the high Himalayas for trekking, the best months are between September to November and February to May, when the weather is pleasant during the day and the temperatures do not drop rapidly during the night. You can still visit the mid-hills, including Kathmandu, Pokhara, Poon hill and flat area Lumbini and Chitwan during the winter months (January and February). June to August is rainy season in Nepal. The rain is expected every day. It brings landslides and clouds often cover the mountain views. It is the best time to travel in Nepal.

  • I visited Nepal a number of times and the last visit was made with the help of the travel agency ” Holidays To Nepal ” Kathmundu during Oct 2013. We had the mortification to miss Muktinath due to bad weather cancelling the flight. Santosh Shresta ,Sales Manager could have tried at least to use the alternate roadways to help us to make the trip.Unfortunately Nepal fell into one of the biggest calamity from which it will take a long time to recover and the return of good time for immediate touring in Nepal which beckons me so much with its nature gifted beauty, its flora and fauna and minimum pollution.I hope and pray that Nepal will soon get over the misery and again hundred and thousands tourists to be roaming in every nook and corner of the country. Like the phoenix Nepal will surely rise again, I have no doubt and am fully convinced.
