1. Nagarjuna Jamacho Monastery – Hiking through the protected area where you can find the species of Deciduous Monsoon Forest and elevated view of Kathmandu valley. Throughout the hike you’ll ascend the hill to reach up the Jamacho monastery and descend while returning back the same way, yet you still get the time to grab your breath at some points from where you can capture the stunning view of Kathmandu valley. Since, you don’t find the shops and markets on the way you’ll have to carry light food and water yourself.

2. Sundarijal – Budanilakantha – A day hike that passes through the conservation area and monsoon forest, waterfall and Buddhist monastery also more than 500 species of vegetation can be found here. 3. Champadevi – Champadevi hiking is one of the popular hiking around Kathmandu Valley. This is third highest hill around Kathmandu valley, which is at the height of 2278. You’ll walk around the hilly foot stairs of Kathmandu valley hill and encounter with the deciduous forest and the species around. During winter you’ll enjoy the valley covered with clouds below your eyes. Buddhist Stupa, Magnificent view of the Himalayan ranges, especially Langtang and Annapurna, Pine forests and old villages are the major attraction of this hike.

4. Phulchoki – Phulchoki is one of the high hill surrounding Kathmandu valley with an altitude of 2750m from Sea level. This is one of the beautiful hiking in terms of vegetation in Kathmandu valley. Botanical garden, Superb panoramic mountain views Landscape, birds and historical places are the major attractions of this hike route. The magnificent view from eastern part of Annapurna range to Gaurishanker in the east can be seen from here. On the clear day apart from the breathtaking view of Kathmandu valley while passing through sub-tropical thick forest.

Nagarkot – Changunarayan – This is the unique hike that starts with descending the hill and ends with descending too.  Changunarayan, the oldest pagoda style Hindu temple in Nepal lies at the north east part of the Kathmandu valley. The great amazing thing is to see how the local villages along the trail still exhibit countryside lifestyle even though being so close to city.
