Mardi Mountain Short Trek

The Mardi mountain short trek will give you a better experience of trekking in Nepal. Mardi mountain lies just close to Fishtail mountain with the height of 5,587 M. The base camp of Mardi mountain is at 4500M from the sea level. This trek will take you from the elevation of 827M to 4500M in a short duration of the walk. One can cover Mardi mountain trek within a short 3 days duration from Pokhara. But our trek package is from Kathmandu to Kathmandu basis plan so the duration is quite long. The traveler can experience the village lifestyle of Dhampus and around. We can customize this trek upon the choice of the traveler and walkable capabilities.

One need to walk all through the uphill until to reach at the Mardi Base Camp. Trekkers will enjoy the forest walk through the hill. During the April/May time the forest will blossom with Rhododendron, the national flower of Nepal. Sunrise and landscape view from the viewpoint would be a best moment of your life. The trek starts from the Kade. Australian camp is the first place where you can take a short rest. Pothana and Pitam Deural are the next 2 villages where you can have your lunch. Those people who can’t walk much could stay at Pothana or Pitam Deurali. Forest camp is the next stop, where 3 local lodges are available for your stay and food service.

After the forest camp you will reach at the Low camp. In the low cam as well several lodges are available. Badal Dada is the next point before you reach to High Camp. One can experience best landscape view from the Badal Danda. In the High Camp there are 5 lodges are available for your stay. Even in the view point of Mardi Base Camp two tea houses are available. Beside all these major accommodation and food service providers, there are several tea houses and lodges available in between them. 

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu.
Your arrival time (?): Our representative will meet and greet you at Kathmandu Airport and transfer you to the hotel. You will have a free time for your trek prepare and travel around Tham
el tourist market.
06:30 PM: Our guide and office represent will meet you at the hotel to explain about your trek plan, If there is any payment due, they will collect during the briefing time.

Day 2: Drive to Pokhara (Optional Rafting on the way).
08:00 AM: Early in the morning you will start your drive to Pokhara. Optionally, you can choose flight service as well which cost isn’t included in the given cost. On the way you can experience the river rafting on Trishuli river. Rafting is also an optional thing to do. Pokhara is about 210 KM far from Kathmandu, 7 hours is the normal time to reach by the drive. In the evening you can visit around Lakeside to explore Pokhara.

Day 3: Drive to Kade and trek to Forest Camp (2500 M).
07:00 AM: Early morning after your breakfast proceed your drive to Kade, the trek start point. It takes approx. 30 minutes drive to reach there from Pokhara. You will reach Pitam Deurali (3 hours) for your lunch through Australian Camp and P0thana village. After lunch you will start trek towards Forest Camp (3 hours), which is your overnight staying point.

Day 4: Trek from Forest Camp to High Camp (3500M).
06:30 AM: Early in the morning you will start your walk to the High Camp. On the way first you will reach to Low Camp (2 hours), where you will have your breakfast. After a short rest start your walk towards Badal Dada (2 hours). You will have your lunch at Dadal Dada. Another 2 hours walk will take you at the High Camp (2 hours) of Mardi mountain trek.

Day 5: Trek High Camp to Mardi Base Camp (4500 M) and Trek back to Low Camp.
05:00 AM: Early in the morning start your walk to the Mardi Base Camp (2 hours). There is a view point just closed to Base Camp. You can decide about to visit Base Camp or stay at view point. The view is almost similar so most of visitors avoids to visit Base Camp. You can get the warm tea/coffee at the tea houses of Mardi view point. Around 08:30 AM get back to the High Camp. And start your walk towards Low Camp (2-3 hours). You can have your lunch at Badal Dada or Low Camp. Stay your night at Low Camp.

Day 6: Trek down to Siding Village and take drive to Pokhara. 
07:00 AM: Start your down hill trek to Siding village. Approx. 2-3 hours walk will take you to the drive starting point. We will arrange a private vehicle for you to get back to Pokhara from there. 2 hours is the maximum time to reach Lakeside. After reaching in Pokhara you will have another evening to enjoy in Pokhara.

Day 7: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu (SIC basis, subject to choose flight).
07:00 AM: Today you are returning back to Kathmandu on SIC tourist bus. You can choose optional flight to return from Kathmandu and use the remaining time for sightseeing around Kathmandu.

Day 8: Departure.
You are free till your departure time. We will drop you at Kathmandu airport 3 hour before your flight time. We wish you for a safe onwards flight.

All foreign nationals, except Indians, need visas to enter Nepal. Multiple entry visas for 15 days (US$ 25 or equivalent convertible currency), 30 days (US$ 40) or 90 days (US$ 100) can be obtained from any Nepalese embassy or consulate. You can also get a visa on arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu or at the Immigration Office at the entry points of Nepal.

Tourist visas can be extended for a period of 120 days at the Immigration Department in Kathmandu. However, nationals of the following countries will not get a visa on arrival at the immigration entry points of Nepal: Afghanistan, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iraq, Liberia, Nigeria, Palestine, Somalia, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. They need to obtain visas from Nepalese embassies or diplomatic missions in their respective countries prior to their arrival in Nepal.

Gratis (Free) Visa for 30 days is available only for nationals of South Asian countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka for the first visit in one visa year (January to December). However, a visa fee is required for its extension beyond the 30 days.

Generally, Nepal is for all seasons, however, if you are going to the high Himalayas for trekking, the best months are between September to November and February to May, when the weather is pleasant during the day and the temperatures do not drop rapidly during the night. You can still visit the mid-hills, including Kathmandu, Pokhara, Poon hill and flat area Lumbini and Chitwan during the winter months (January and February). June to August is rainy season in Nepal. The rain is expected every day. It brings landslides and clouds often cover the mountain views. It is the best time to travel in Nepal.

You can cancel your trip at any time by paying a cancelation charge. We have a provision to transfer your booking to third person without any charges. If cancellation takes place at the prior to arrival due to client’s personal problems, the advance deposit amount will be forfeited.
