Day 1

Drive to Gangtok from Kakarbhitta/Bhadrapur/Pashupati Nagar.

As this trip starts either from Kakarbhitta, Pashupati Nagar, or Bhadrapur Airport, upon arrival at one of these preferred pickup points, you will be warmly greeted by our representative, who will ensure your transfer to Gangtok. It is the capital city of Sikkim and is a picturesque city that lies in the heart of Sikkim. The travel time could take approximately 5-7 hours, depending on your pickup location. Upon your arrival in Gangtok, head to your hotel, complete the check-in procedure, and enjoy your overnight stay at Gangtok.

Note: You need to reach the above-mentioned places on your own and the reaching time should be before 11 am so you are able to drive the same day to Gangtok. Also carry a document of proof of identity with copies along with some passport-sized photos for border formality.

Day 2

Gangtok Sightseeing.

At 07:00 AM: Good Morning! After having a delicious, hearty breakfast at the hotel, get ready for your drive to have a wonderful tour of Gangtok. This day you will be visiting: Jawaharlal Nehru Botanical Garden, Do Drul Chorten (Stupa), Gangtok Ropeway, Namgyal Research Institute of Tibetology, Nam Nang Viewpoint, Flower Exhibition Center, Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom, Enchey Monastery, Ganesh Tok, Bakthang Waterfalls, and Tashi Viewpoint. At 07:00 AM: After a fulfilling breakfast at the hotel, get ready for your travel plans for the day. Today you will be going on an excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Rumtek Monastery. The drive to Tsomgo Lake from Gangtok takes approximately 2-3 hours. Tsomgo Lake is a stunning glacial lake that is a major tourist destination in Gangtok! This lake is frozen during most times of the year and is surrounded by many flower species, such as rhododendron, poppies, and lilies during peak season. You will surely be mesmerized by the beauty of the lake!

Note: Please carry essential documents for proof of identity (like citizenship, passport, birth certificate if minor, etc. with their xerox copies) and 4 passport-size photos per person while traveling to Tsomgo Lake, as this is a restricted area. A local guide will assist you when you are visiting this lake as well. Also, please note that foreigners are not allowed to travel past this point.

From there, you will be visiting Rumtek Monastery, which takes approximately 2 to 3 hours to reach from Tsomgo Lake. This monastery is one of the most well-known monasteries in Sikkim and also stands as a symbol of peace and unity. After touring these fantastic locations, you will be returning back to Gangtok. At 03:00 AM: Rise and Shine! Ready for another adventure? You will be leaving for Tiger Hill early in the morning to view the stunning sunrise over Kanchenjunga Peak. On the way, you can see the primitive forests decorated with oak and magnolia trees! The early morning wakeup call totally makes it worthwhile, as you can see the mesmerizing sunrise and snow-capped mountains from the hills! On the way back, you will be visiting Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop, and Peace Memorial. These travel destinations are a few of Darjeeling’s spiritual and historical places. Visiting these places offers you a unique blend of the town’s history, culture, and natural beauty.

After visiting these fantastic locations, head back to your hotel for breakfast. After that, your city tour starts, which includes visiting places such as Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Bengal Natural History Museum (closed on Sundays), Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursdays), Darjeeling Ropeway, Tenzing and Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (Closed on Sundays) and Tea Estate.

Departure, Farewell!

At 07:00 AM: It’s hard to believe that your Darjeeling Sikkim Tour has come to an end. After having a delicious breakfast at the hotel, get ready for your departure. You will be transferred to your preferred drop location, either Kakarbhitta, Pashupati Nagar, or Bhadrapur Airport from Darjeeling. It will take around 5 to 7 hours, depending on the drop location you choose. Safe travels and hope that the memories of this trip may always last with you!
