Whether you’re someone who likes to save money and thrift for local goods or splurge on luxury items, this city will never leave your shopping bags empty!

The “City of Angels” is also home to a number of historic Buddhist temples like Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho, Wat Arun and Wat Saket that you can add to your travel list, as they help capture this city’s deep rooted heritage and thriving history.
Sip, Dine and Relax on the Chao Phraya Cruise
Another touristy activity in Bangkok that has remained a favorite among Nepali travelers is the Chao Phraya Cruise. The evenings are said to be one of the best things to go on this cruise as the sun starts to set and the sky changes colors into softer shades of blue, orange and pink.

As you sail above the Chao Phraya River, you’ll get to witness many historical landmarks like Pho Temple, Rama VIII Bridge and Phra Sumen Fort from this cruise ship, along with getting to enjoy an incredible buffet dinner consisting of the most spectacular Thai and international dishes!
Visit Vibrant Pattaya, the City That Never Sleeps
Just a 2-3 hour drive from Bangkok lies the scenic Pattaya City, another of this nation’s top destinations. Coral (Koh Larn) Island, situated around 7-8 kilometers from this city, is home to six scenic beaches perfectly suited for Nepali travelers who are into watersport activities and beach exploration.

And for those party animals, Pattaya is the nightlife hub of Thailand featuring various clubs and bars, dining options, street shows, live concerts and more for all kinds of night owls out there.

From Culture to History: Encounter Phuket’s Best Places
Likewise, Phuket is more suitable for cultural immersion, local food experiences and vibrant nightlife. Being the largest island in Thailand, this southern province used to function as a trading post in the past that led to the birth of many new cultures and traditions seen reflected in the city’s architecture, food customs and languages.

The famous “Yi Peng festival” (also known as the festival of lights) is also celebrated in Chiang Mai every November. This festival invites a huge number of tourists from various parts of the world. During the celebration, visitors purchase lanterns, write their wishes on them and release them to the night sky.

The sky during this time almost looks like a constellation of living stars, as thousands of illuminating lanterns are released at the same time, converting the once dark sky into a sea of glowing lights! We highly recommend you visit Chiang Mai during this time, as this experience is said to be nothing short of spectacular.
Located just 3-4 hours away from Chiang Mai lies another scenic city of Chiang Rai. If you’re someone who wants to enjoy the slower pace of traveling, then Chiang Rai will far exceed your expectations!

Modes of Transportation
Thailand offers a range of transportation like BTS (sky train), MRT (subway), taxis, motorcycles, songthaews (two row trucks), buses and tuktuks (rickshaws) that you can use depending upon your convenience. For a faster option, you can use sky trains and subways, whereas tuk-tuks/taxis are preferable for short trips.
Most commonly while riding the MRT, a contactless visa or mastercard can be used, while on other hand for the BTS, a rabbit card is needed. These places also have ticketing counters where you can purchase the ticket through cash.
Similarly, to travel via taxis, motorcycles, songthaews, buses and tuktuks, cash can be used.
Food and Dining
Thai cuisine is bold, delicious, and packed with flavor. As this top-rated cuisine combines a number of fragrant spices, rich sauces, and aromatic oils, it features some of the most delectable food items that you keep reaching for even when you're full!
A handful of the dishes that you have to try while traveling in this stunning country include massam curry (meat curry), khao pad (fried rice), gai tod (crispy fried chicken) and pad thai (stir fried noodles).
Note: Thailand is a beef eating country, so be sure to ask what meat is used if you are ordering a non veg dish.
Currency and Payments
As each traveler has their own spending habits that depend upon various factors while traveling, in a general sense, it is advised to take around 500-1000 USD (or more depending on your travel needs) in Thailand for a week, as this budget allows you to pay for expenses such as additional flights/sightseeing, dining, shopping and any other miscellaneous travel costs.
For payment options, this nation uses both cash and credit cards (visa and mastercard) so it is recommended to carry a mix of both cash and cards while traveling.
Likewise, cash is generally preferred in many local restaurants, small souvenir shops, street markets and rural areas, where having 1500-3000 Thai Baht is ideal for most purchases, whereas credit cards (like visa and mastercard) can be used in many hotels, shopping malls and larger establishments.
Prioritize Your Health and Safety
Before traveling to Thailand, make sure to get all the necessary health checkups so you don’t fall sick on your trip. Also, get all the needed vaccinations recommended by your doctor and carry all the medications that you use regularly on your trip as well.
Additionally, drink plenty of water during your traveling days and eat a well-balanced diet so you can stay healthy and energized throughout your trip.
Know What to Pack
Thailand is one of those destinations that is hot and humid all year round, and for this you’ll need to pack smartly.
Temperatures usually range around 25-35 degrees celsius all year round and as you may be planning to visit many cities, make sure to pack lightweight, breathable clothes made out of cotton or linen materials (as they feel cool on the skin and also easily soak up moisture).
Furthermore, make sure that you also carry travel essentials like hats/caps, portable power banks, type A or C power plugs that work on 220 voltage at a frequency of 50 Hz, sunglasses, sunscreen, a water bottle, swimwear, insect repellent, and a windbreaker as well, among other things.
